The learning organization possesses some distinct characteristics that differentiate it from other traditional organizations. As noted by Kopp (2014), the five characteristics include mental models, personal mastery, shared vision, team learning, and systems thinking. Personal mastery refers to one’s ability to know what they want and the desire to put effort into attaining it (Kopp, 2014). A learning organization is one that ensures that a person has the environment to develop themselves to achieve what they would like to achieve. A shared vision is a commitment by members of an organization to attain a certain desired future.
