Assignment
Write a 3- to 4-page paper in which you address the following:
After selecting a for-profit or not-for-profit organization that is of interest to you, analyze the organization’s vision and mission statements against the criteria for meaningful statements, revising the statements as required.
Keys to the Assignment
The key aspects of this assignment that should be covered in your paper include the following:
* Using the library or the Internet, choose an organization that is of interest to you. For this purpose, you are required to choose an organization in which you are not currently employed. (Hint: You may want to choose your target organization using a current listing of Fortune 500 companies.)
* Locate the organization’s website. Spend time navigating the company website, so that you have a good understanding of what the company does.
* Provide the name and website address of your chosen organization.
* Locate and write down the organization’s mission and vision statements.
* Critique each of the foregoing statements against the criteria included in the Background readings and/or the criteria you developed for the Case assignment. Note: Organizations have a tendency to combine their mission and vision statements; therefore, you may need to decide whether a given statement is a mission statement or a vision statement. Be sure to back up your critiques with research that appropriately supports your analysis.
* Rewrite the vision and mission statements in the proper format for vision and mission statements.
* In the context of the criteria for “good” vision and mission statements, defend the adjustments/changes you have made to the statements.

The Strategic Compass-Slp
Apple Incorporation is one of the largest multinational technology companies across the globe. It majors in the production of electronics, computer software, and internet services. It has one of the most advanced technologies, and it influences the way we use computers and the reasons we use them across the world. The company's objectives are promoted by its mission and vision statements which act as a motivation. Mission statements explain why the organization exists and describe the organization's goals and intentions. Vision statement explains the company's purpose, a peer into the future with a positive outlook and hope (Peek,2020). It explains what the organization wishes to accomplish and how the community will view it. This paper will analyze Apple Incorporation's mission and vision statements against the criteria for significant words, rewrite and defend the adjustments I will make to the statements.
The Chief Executive Officer of Apple Incorporation, Timothy Donald Cook, sees the organization as a technological giant soon. Because of this, a mission statement involves the plans that the organization intends to use to achieve the future desired state. Through the years, Apple has readjusted its mission and vision statements as it looks to keep abreast with the continuously evolving advancements in technology. Despite many modifications in the goal and vision statements, Apple's underlying values contribute significantly to the company's significant success. Diversification, literacy, affordability, the responsibility of suppliers, and confidentiality are just a few of them. Furthermore, the business mission and vision are linked since they drive the corporation's steady expansion amidst competitive hurdles (Rowland, 2020).
Mission Statement
Williams (2008) listed several things that should be included when creating a mission statement;
* Purpose
* Products and services
* Employees
* Market
* Philosophy
* Technology
While developing the mission statement, one must ensure that it agrees with Smith's criteria for being achievable, memorable, simple, employee buy-in, and informative. Feasible means that it is challenging while at the same time being aware of the organization's objectives and goals. It should be memorable in that it should use a language that is a source of inspiration and is not difficult to remember. For it to be simple means that it should not be difficult to understand. Employee buy-in means that the employees should be allowed to have their grievances listened to by the management. Finally, it should be informative in the sense that it should give accurate information about the organization's objectives while giving principles that guide the projects and decisions of the organization.
