Introduction.
Leadership positions within teams can often be fluid and dynamic. Circumstances may require an individual to step forward and lead in some situations and then adopt the role of follower in others. For these reason a good leaders should know when it is appropriate to follow and when to lead basing on the following reason. First, true leader know when it appropriate to lead when the organization is driving to achieve organizational goals (Bass & Bass, 2012). In addition, a leader knows he/she is called to lead when there is a necessity of creating and business environment with stability, trust, hope and cooperation. In this case, the leader must be on the fore front creating an enabling environment for his team to thrive (Ramsey R. , 2010). Also, a leader knows he has to lead when he/she is bestowed with the responsibility to come up with strategies, decision making and communication plan to spearhead the smooth running of the organization.
