SDLC is a formal multistage framework that is used for the implementation of information systems. As shown in the figure, a typical SDLC comprises five stages: planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance (Kavanagh et al., 2015). The HR examines the existing system capabilities in the planning stage and comes up with change, adaptation, or upgrade plans. In the analysis phase, documentation of an organization’s current capabilities is done, including identifying new needs (Kavanagh et al., 2015). The design phase is characterized by the development of the blueprint for the new system and the final evaluation and selection of a vendor.
