Due to the Increasing expatriate turnover in this company which can lead lower rate of revenue, I have come up with two strategies that can help in reducing the high rate of expatriate turn over in this company. The two strategies are cost-effective and will not affect the company’s current operations and continued output capacity. High expatriate turnover has a big impact on the standard of goods and services provided by the company. These strategies include the company’s management ensuring that the host country nationals has a good perception and attitude toward the expatriate, as well as the development of training programs to train the expatriate.
Host country nationals play a vital role in the balance and performance of the expatriates. The host country national’s attitude concerning the expatriate determines how they treat and act towards the expatriate (Arman and Aycan, 2013). For instance, if they have a negative attitude towards the expatriates, they may either make it easier or hard for them to adjust in the company. Conversely, positive attitude of host country national’s towards the expatriate may make it easier for the expatriate to socialize with them, hence making it exceedingly easier for the expatriate to get to know the company properly and choose to stay in the company.
Obstructive perception of the host country nationals towards expatriates may lead to the adverse performance appraisal of expatriates. Such appraisal of expatriates is possible despite having excellent performance of the actual work in the company (Arman and Aycan, 2013). This is likely to lead to an increase in expatriate turnover, with expatriates choosing other companies where their contribution and efforts are valued and appreciated.
