Summary.
This part of the text discusses the changed meaning of social responsibility stating that the new meaning is quite different as it describes the contribution of business in solving social problems in the society and how to tackle the issue of racial discrimination and racial integration in the U.S. This chapter also discusses the issue of disenchantment with the government in relation to the new leadership groups as well as the reason why public relations are inadequate nowadays. In addition, the chapter denotes that the three cautionary tales are "business irresponsibility," of "greed," and "incompetence." Furthermore, regarding the case of “Union Carbide and Vienna, West Virginia” and the Swift meat packing plan in the Buenos Aires, the chapter discusses the human rights of Quakers and how leadership groups of mangers impact social responsibility.
Reflection.
This chapter is significant to the whole content of the journal as it completely relates to the meaning of its title “Management and the Quality of Life”. The notion that social responsibility has to be managed is also important, in my point of view.

Summary.
This chapter is called “Social Impacts and Social Problems”. It achieves the meaning of this title by explaining the importance of the responsibility for social impacts in an organization as well as giving a detailed description of the most appropriate manner a manager should use in identifying the impacts. In addition to that, the chapter explains main needs for technology monitoring in a firm stating that technology will lead the management in the process of forecasting and slighting the really important tasks. Besides, the text elucidates that one of the most significant ways of dealing with or managing impacts “is to make the elimination of impacts into a profitable business opportunity.” Finally, the chapter induces that trade-offs is the main solution to impacts of the notion of using social problems as business opportunities.
Reflection.
Every business and management has its own social impacts and social problems and it is the job of the management department to deal with the issues.

Summary.
Chapter 30, titled “The Limits of Social Responsibility” states that the first responsibility of an organization should aim at it the betterment of its own institutions since “a bankrupt business is not a desirable employer and is unlikely to be a good neighbor in a community.” Secondly, the chapter outlines the common limits of competence giving the idea that acquisition of skills and knowledge required for a particular task is easy but it will be difficult for the individual to change their personality so that they can be desired by their heads in the organization.
