For this first SLP, think carefully about the background readings and how they might apply to a specific organizational situation or problem that you have experienced firsthand. Then write a 2- to 3-page paper answering the following questions:
1. What do you think the biggest problem your current organization or one of the previous organizations you worked for faces? Why do you think management has had difficulty with this problem?
2. Do you think this problem could be mitigated by hiring an organizational development consultant based on what you’ve read in the background materials? Why or why not? Make sure to cite some of the readings in your answer.
3. Of the action research and organizational development steps listed in the required readings, which ones do you think would be the more challenging steps that an organizational development consultant would face coming into your organization? Explain your reasoning and cite at least one of the required background readings.

An organization must strive for continuous improvement to keep up with the rapidly changing world. Organizational development (OD) is the answer to the rapid changes that are occurring. OD is the process of changing and realizing an organization’s full potential by creating, modifying, or strengthening structures, policies, and strategies (McLean, 2005). Hence, organizations must use an OD in any aspect or area they aim to improve.
Every organization faces difficulties. Organizations may face both easy-to-solve and difficult-to-solve problems. Some issues arise in my organization, where I manage overall loan operations. In addition, the position entails maintaining harmonious and positive relationships within the organization, which was the organization’s most difficult challenge. Several factors cause this issue. First, because the members are diverse, there may be misunderstandings caused by their differences. Second, the job can be stressful, and members may take things personally, leading to distant or destructive behavior. And lastly, there may be personal issues that lie on the members and hinder them from building positive relationships within the organization. The management finds this issue difficult to resolve since many people are involved. Everyone must be included in creating positive linkages, thus. The organization needs to consider everyone from the decision-making to the resolution. In addition, management is unable to identify the root cause of the problem. It makes it more difficult for management to resolve the issue because they do not know where to begin. Indeed, organizations face challenges that appear to have no end in sight.
