Information system and technology is a collection of interrelated components that work in synergy to collect, manipulate, disseminate, and provide room for storage of information on databases while utilizing specific software. The major challenge in information systems is the need to build unique, competitive, and efficient systems that will satisfy global needs. The niche also faces a challenge in creating appropriate software that matches specific organizational needs and in determining the business value of their information systems. According to Cisco Annual Report, the major challenge facing the Internet of Things (IoT) is the need to design systems that are user-friendly, easy to maneuver, and utilize in an ethically responsible manner (Cisco Systems, 2020). However, Information technology creates new learning and innovation opportunities, which frames the MIS course more meaningful and exciting.
