Leadership is a broad and highly dynamic concept. It is a critical ingredient for achievement, success, or fulfilment of goals in an organization or individual life. Leadership is influence based on the same founding principles and philosophies. Positive leadership practices breed effective management, rewarding cultures, and productive teams.  Some persons may depict natural talent in leadership and exemplary leadership competencies. However, learning how to become a better manager or leader is a crucial practice.
Leaders play a fundamental role for themselves, organizations, and society as a whole. First, the creation of vision is a critical function bestowed upon the leadership. Vision entails providing a sense of direction to an organization, individual, or society. The team members in workplaces will perform optimally if the goals, objectives, mission, and mission are well established in an organization. When team members are aware of the vision and ideals enshrined in an organization, there is an increased focus and understanding of individuals' specific roles or functions towards achieving overall organizational success.
Secondly, establishing a useful organizational framework and communication protocols is a critical function for all leaders. Leaders are expected to define organizational structure by illustrating the organizational chart, presenting a chain of command, and establishing a straightforward protocol that allows the smooth flow of information. The team members should have a communication framework that enables them to raise questions and concerns in line with chains of commands and organization structure and provide a way in which such matters can be acted upon. The communication framework in an environment that has effective leadership is always providing feedback in response to employees' issues, challenges, or concerns. Team members need to understand who they ought to report when there are concerns amongst the employees and institutions.  To facilitate effective communication and efficiency, leaders need to develop communication protocols that enable information transfer, such as email, hospital newsletters, phone calls, and memos to supplement one-on-one communication and staff meeting interactions. The communication means should be in tandem with the message content. For example, memos messages are suitable for delivering information touching on minor issues while meetings confer the opportunity to discuss serious concerns, sensitive matters, or high importance items. More often, there is a need for direct and clear communication with employees and subordinates. Communication function permeates through almost all aspects of leadership. It entails listening, complimenting, or praising employees for work well done, communicating tasks clearly during task delegation, and using it while managing organizational meetings.
