Colleagues:
The Art of Persuasion article by Conger presents numerous examples regarding the effective use of "persuasion in the workplace." For our forum discussion, I'd like you to read the article that was written by Thomas Sergiovanni.
In the article, the author states "it is servant leadership, based on a deep commitment to values and emerging from a groundswell of moral authority, that makes the critical difference in the lives of Blaine's students and their families (Jossey-Bass Reader, 78). Sergiovanni goes on to write that "as leaders of leaders, they work hard to build up the capacities of teachers and others, so that direct leadership will no longer be needed (79).
Please share with us what "values" Sergiovanni is referencing. Please remember how we defined the term "values" during the first week of our seminar.
Additionally, explain how leaders can "build up the capacity of others." When drafting your response, please go beyond writing in the abstract. Now's the time to merge theory with praxis!
All the best,
Dr. K
