Before writing this paper, make sure to thoroughly review the background readings. Think carefully about how Open Space Technology and Future Search could be used at your organization. Then write a 3-page paper addressing the following questions.

What issue facing your organization would be most appropriately addressed using Future Search? Explain the issue and why Future Search could effectively address this issue.
If you organized a Future Search Conference to address the issue identified in Question 1 above, who would you include in the initial planning before the conference? Who you invite to the conference? How many people would you invite, and why? Any other specifics planning details that you would address to ensure the success of the conference?

1 What issue facing the organization and Future Search
Future Search is one of the large group interventions that are utilized to achieve an ideal and desired future. In the Future Search process, there are shared encounters and values as well as a common ground with different members of the organization where people work on complex issues. The main problem is analyzed in its entirety, focusing on the past and present to foresee the future and there is an action plan to address the identified issue (s) (Norum, 2005). This is possible as there is in-depth and information that is exchanged among the stakeholders, including in the planning phase of the actions to be carried out in the future. There is continuous learning and planning and the action plans may change depending on the feasibility of the actions and input of the stakeholders.
One issue facing the organization is problems with organizational relationships and conflicts between different employees, and between the employees and the management. Future Search is potentially useful to facilitate dialogue and decisions among many people where there is a common vision among those involved. Additionally, achieving consensus in the early phases of the participatory planning process is necessary to find a common ground (Leith, 1996). While a common ground is important in Future Search to move into the future reducing the likelihood of conflict(s) between different key actors should not be ignored. The stakeholders share their experiences and knowledge, which improves their capacity for taking action and commitment to supporting changes in the organization. Stakeholder participation addresses other issues such as planning for the future, strengthening the teams, improving communication and enhancing commitment in the organization.
2 Future Search Conference and planning the conference
The Future Search Conference is a participatory planning method and process where a group of people develops strategic objectives and tactical action plans that are implemented in the future. The conference helps people to collaborate regardless of their differences where there is emphasis on a desirable future for the participants and the strategies to achieve this (Nixon, 1998). The interaction of individuals in large groups may affect effective planning and group dynamics before and during the Future Search Conference.
At the planning stage, I would invite the management, the head of departments and employees to the conference as they are internal stakeholders who are affected by the issue.
