There were several different takeaways from this paper and the research conducted. Of all the countries that were included in the study shows that ~81% showed improvement with Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) (Kruse & Beane, 2018). There is a positive sign that with you want to increase healthcare outcomes and quality of care you would increase technology. Depending on what country you would look at. The healthcare industry has a systemic way of doing business. They will release a concept like using Healthcare Information Technology and ask policymakers to start laws requiring it or lobby them to enact laws to force them. First, they start off with initiatives for those hospitals or medical clinics that use the product, and as people use them more and see the outcomes increase than others will follow. Other countries like Germany then go into a penalization method with the companies do not use the systems.
“Studies from PubMed and CINAHL that defined a HIT intervention and a corresponding effect on medical outcomes stated in terms of efficiency or effectiveness were eligible for selection. The search for this review was extensive, and the reviewers took care to be deliberate and thorough in their process” (Kruse & Beane, 2018, para 7). There were 12 different categories that were identified as having matching information across the board. Telemedicine and software programs were two of the most used categories. This study was just a small sample but put Health Information Technology showed that it could positively with increase outcomes. One issue that the United States will face compared to other countries is that they do not use a national system so there are several different systems that the companies can buy. When other countries have one system it would make getting data much easier. “Numerous studies have considered the outcomes of implementing an electronic medical record on healthcare quality and patient safety, with a majority of studies showing favorable results”(Alotaibi & Federico, 2017, para. 12).

Kruse and Beane (2018) researched from several existing literature reviews to establish if Health Information Technology improved healthcare across several institutions and areas. From around four thousand resources, they reduced to 37 sources and used the findings for their detailed analysis. Their initial hypothesis was that there is at least one positive improvement in healthcare. Analysis picked on the articles published from 2013 to 2018, from different databases like PubMed. From their results, more than 81% of the researchers established improvement in healthcare efficiency and effectiveness. One aspect they considered were the years of analysis that depended on the introduction of at least new technologies. The classifications used varied from physical care, psychological care, communal care, continuity of care, and consistency, among others. They concluded that medical services improved after the introduction of different Healthcare Information Technology in various sectors of health.
I feel the article outlines a detailed approach to understanding the improvements in healthcare service provision across several institutions. Their focus on more than 3000 literature reviews is an in-depth approach that has both crucial and detailed information for the work. Aspects outlined, from the delivery of information, record keeping, or future use, are highlighted for comprehensive explorations.
