When choosing whether a physical or cloud server, one faces the dilemma of making the most appropriate choice. Both have pros and cons. The pros of a physical sever include; gives administrator physical control over their backup (Sharma, 2016); critical data is kept physical, and cannot be accessed by a third party; Data can be access without Internet; and Cost-efficient if used in small and medium-sized companies. Its cons include; hardware and infrastructure requires heavy capital investment; takes up office space for server room or a rack, and dedicated IT support; higher susceptibility to data loss in the event of a disaster (Sharma, 2016); and recovery time or uptime not guaranteed.
