Sexual harassment at the workplace is a serious form of discrimination, which consists of unwanted behavior, conduct or comments regarding sexual orientation (Epp, 2011). As an HR manager, it is my responsibility to ensure that male and female workers receive respect and are not harassed by their coworkers. When I got to know that a male worker was teasing the female employee, I called both of them to my cabin and discussed matters.
The conversation is as follows:
Manager: Dear, has your coworker asked about your dates?
Female Employee: Yes, he did so by sending emails and written notes. He has been leaving a note or two on my table every day.
Manager: Does he stare at you offensively/.
Female Employee: Sometimes I find him seeing me strangely and wildly, and this makes me feel bad.
Manager: Have you ever found any offensive comments from his side?
Female Employee: No, he does not say anything openly but keeps sending me written notes and emails asking about my periods.
Now, I would like to talk with the male employee who is blamed for having harassed the female worker.
Manager: I am sure you are aware of the rules and regulations of the company and know how bad harassment is at the workplace?
Male Employee: Yes, I had read them at the time of signing the contract.
Manager: Why did you send those notes and emails to her?
Male Employee: I do not think it is bad as I like her and want to marry her.
