Emotional intelligence involves the capability to regulate emotions, control impulses, and remain optimistic in difficult situations (Oden et al., 2017). Emotional intelligence can help me advance my career as a warrant officer in the United States army since it promotes greater self-awareness. As a warrant officer, I need self-awareness to remain consistent and harmonious in order to know precisely what my abilities are, and this assurance will add tremendous value to my career. In addition, it will keep my ego in check and motivate me to address weak areas for tremendous career success. Self-awareness is the foundation of effective self-improvement and will continue to inspire me to improve. Hence, overcoming obstacles and excelling during times of stress and conflict. It will be difficult for others to bring me down because of my high level of self-awareness. My engagement and dedication will not be affected by what others say. Possessing self-control creates a sense of awareness of my weaknesses and strengths.
Motivation is integral to emotional intelligence (Oden et al., 2017). Emotional intelligence enhances a high level of motivation at all times and also embraces learning. The more I am motivated to learn; the more critical success will be to my career. I will be able to face difficulties at the workplace more confidently due to high motivation. Furthermore, having a motivated personality can inspire strong motivation in my team hence bringing out the best in everyone.
Emotional intelligence can also help me advance my career as a warrant officer because it optimizes leadership qualities. In today’s world, emotional intelligence is a must-have quality as a leader. As a warrant officer, emotional intelligence will help me in guiding my team through any crisis. Emotional intelligence is crucial in working with groups with various backgrounds and perspectives. I will also be able to make a stronger case for leadership, which will foster unity among my team.
