Effects of Dubai Quality Awards on Organizational Performance in the United Arab Emirates
The objective of the above study was to determine the positive impacts on the Human Resource Development Practices, HRDP, and the Organizational Performance, OP, of receiving the Dubai Quality Awards, DQA, being one of the quality awards in the United Arab Emirates, UAE. The results showed that the award significantly enhances the OP. The following discussion will explore the Design/methodology/approach that was used in this study and the reason for its use.
Both Primary and Secondary data were used in this study. From the past DQA winners, primary data, which is first-hand data collected by the researcher, and that related to their OP and HRDP was collected for the analyses. This form of data collection is favored for the fact that it provides up to date information since the researcher is collecting first-hand information from the source e.g., through questionnaires making it more valid, the data collected is easy to understand given that only information relevant to the study is sought, minimal errors are encountered making the data more accurate since the information is collected by the researcher themselves with precision and attention to the particular data they are interested in, and the fact that the information is being sought by the researcher themselves, they have more control in updating and manipulating the survey to fit into a target group.
