Introduction
In this modern era, organizations are facing several managerial complications. The decisions of managers and the team-leaders revolve around encouraging and nurturing their employees in order to gain a competitive advantage. In today’s competitive world, organizations and the managers should encourage, empower, and support their employees. The team performance plays an important role in an organization, as it is directly linked with the organizational achievements and business objectives of the strategical team. Team performance acts as the bond between the team and the business performance outcomes.

Direction – In the first building block, the most important thing to manage the team and organizational performance is the setting of mission and the objectives. The mission and objectives can encourage the employees in order to act by the directions; resulting in motivated employees and job involvement. Traditionally, the performance management is based on communicating the goals from top-down hierarchy pairing with the annual performance reviews.
In order to manage the team performances, a leader should have transparent and collaborative goals that can help in understanding the direction of the organization (Barner, 2006). A leader can only grow their team into high-performance teams through constant environmental support, availability of resources, and proper direction which is needed in order to achieve their goals.
Goal alignment – To initiate the effectiveness of the team or organizational performance management, the best way is to set clear goals and expectations. In order to give the better understanding of overall organizational goals, it is best to involve the employees in the process of setting goals and foreseeing how their personal goals will fit in the workplace (Curseu, 2015). The goals which are set should be in-line with the over-all established potentials as per the role and level of an individual. Both the employee and the leader should be committed to using the available resources required to complete the targeted goals.
A leader should set such goals which are meaningful, challenging but attainable, and can drive more performance in the organizational performances. Setting goals also helps the leaders to develop an understanding of the need for constant training for the employees and also ensuring that both the leaders and the team are on the same progress page.
Performance monitoring - As a part of monitoring the performance, the leader should be able to recognize to achieve the expected outputs, the expectations are being communicated clearly with the team. Performance monitoring plays an important part in work improvement, gap identification, individual growth, and reconciliation (Agrawal, 2012).
