The concept of leadership is an ever-changing concept (Blanchard & Miller, 2012). The people that I have come across, either when learning or in a leadership position, have altered my perception on leadership. I have seen my leadership paradigm evolve due to their inspiration. Additionally, I had an opportunity to work in an environment that enhanced career development, personal growth, and achievement. Hence, through these experiences I have gained essential qualities of being a good leader. Some of the merits that I acquired and strengthened include how to be a good listener, to encourage teamwork, to have patience, to promote acceptance of positive viewpoints from other team members, to articulate a clear set of objectives and goals, to establish direction, to set strategies, to seek commitment, to be outspoken and not be afraid of constructive criticism. These elements illustrate my readiness to lead a complex organization.
