According to Kinicki & Kreitner (2003), organizational behavior is defined as the study of how people or managers think, act, and feel about in organized settings. There are different theories that explain how different managers’ attitude can affect the performance of an organization. In an organization, there are individuals who are unique in their own way; for instance, in terms of skills, personalities, perceptions, abilities, attitudes, ethics and emotions. There are only two important personality trait theories that apply in organizational behavior; they include Social Perception and Core Self Evaluation (Chiang & Hsieh, 2012).
This paper explores how these theories contribute to the organizational behavior.
Big Five Traits, Stress (Social Perception)
One of the models that can be used in the behavior of different personalities in the organization is called the big five traits, stress. Most researchers have come into agreement that these gig five traits play a key role in shaping an individual’s personality. These big five traits include; agreeableness, conscientiousness, extraversion, neuroticism, and openness to experience. It is important to note that competency and individual’s personality are keys to the creation of positive relationship that leads to job performance as well as customer loyalty (Thoresen et al,, 2004).
