Transition Approach in Cognitive Development

Essay Instructions:

This is the 3rd installment of your four-part project. Again, you will produce a 4-5 page reflective essay that contains five components. Please ensure you employ proper headings for each of the five components and utilize proper APA citations and references throughout. This activity aligns with module outcome 3.
Revisit your challenge or hardship—personal, academic, or financial—from weeks 2 & 4, and with the continued development of your strategy for coping with or overcoming this challenge, address the following components in your essay.
From chapters 6,(Recognizing, analyzing, and constructing Argument) 7(Inductive Arguments), & 8 (Deductive Argument) employ the specific lessons outlined in your reading:
• Explain how a Stage 3* transition approach in Cognitive Development applies here. Identify why it is important to reach this stage of development in decision making.
o *Stage Three: I should not just blindly or follow authority. I need to orient myself in an uncertain world and make a decision or commitment.
• Identify the premise(s) and conclusion for one of your primary strategies for tackling your challenge.
• Place your primary strategy argument in both deductive and inductive form. Explain which one is more convincing and why.
• Evaluate the strategy argument for your challenge by using the following factors: clarity, credibility, relevance, completeness, and soundness of the argument.
• Determine the causal reasoning in your strategy argument and identify whether or not there are questionable assumptions or superstitions involved.
This course uses the American Psychological Association (APA) format for scholarly writing. References and citations must adhere to the proper format for all written work presented including essays, discussion postings, and essay exams. Online tips for using APA style may be found at the Excelsior College OWL (Links to an external site.). Your research should be documented by citing one or more credible sources such as the textbook, a newspaper, a biographic article, book, or website. Wikipedia and any similar online reference sites where the content may be authored by anyone are not considered credible sources for scholarly writing.

M6A2: Final Project Part 2- Reflective Essay
My previous tasks focused on critical thinking and the limitations of moral relativism. Critical thinking plays a vital role in implementing development strategies that help individuals cope with the adversaries they face. Additionally, I highlighted the academic challenges that I faced in my first year despite being a bright student. While applying critical thinking in my academic challenges, I faced some limitations during the formal operational stage. These challenges compelled me to employ moral relativism in order to adequately improve my grades. Moral relativism denotes that morality is linked to one’s rules. I realized that in order to succeed, I need to work extra hard and associate myself with students I can learn from. It is in this regard that I intend to apply the third transition approach in cognitive development so as to move towards academic excellence.
Transition Approach in Cognitive Development
Transition is the period of changing from one state to another. According to Piaget, although transition issues are highly prioritized, most researches do not pursue them because they deem the problems associated with transition too difficult. Piaget further states that assimilation and accommodation are two sides of the same coin. Change is common in life. Yet we are often surprised when the time for change comes. In the education system, we progress to higher levels of education as we grow older. Each level of education offers a different type of learning experience. The topics in kindergartens are different from the ones in universities and so is the outlook in life. Children are often expected to blindly follow authority because they are still under the tutelage of their parents or guardians (Rosenthal, 2017). Whereas most students in the universities are old enough to make any decisions that will either negatively or positively impact their lives. I firmly believe that making and living by my decisions will lead to the success of any endeavors I partake. In some institutions, students are expected to participate in games whenever lessons end. This rule usually applies to the students who are in the various gaming clubs. Dedicating this extra time to my studies in the library will help me improve my academic performance. I know that physical education helps keep one fit. But since I am not in any gaming club, I intend to study during P.E time during weekdays and work-out only during weekends.
The premises and Conclusion of my Primary strategy
In order for me to academically succeed, I need to make certain sacrifices. The library is usually empty during P.E time thus making it an ideal place to study. Sacrificing two hours of interaction in order to better my grades seems like an ideal compromise. Additionally, the library is the only place where I can study without unnecessary interruptions. It is in that regard that I will make a timetable that revolves around the areas I come up short academically. This will help me fully focus on my weak points and get an angle to tackle these problems. I also plan to switch off my phone during this time. This is because leaving my p...
