The people from Mexico City and the pre-Hispanic city of Texcoco live differently the same event since the railroad will have a varied outcome for either location. During the inauguration, the railroad location was not of significance to the reporters and guests who had arrived from Mexico City. Altamirano reveals that the reporters regarded the event as a time to share “more-or-less witty remarks” (Altamirano 109). This was the only relevant information that they decided to record. On the other hand, the railway station marked a new development for Texcoco after many years, and it would also benefit them more. This can be attributed to historical events. The powerful Pre-Hispanic city was taken over by the Aztecs, but it was allowed to operate with its laws. They were separatists and very competitive, and did not associate with other indigenous communities.
