The most significant fact about Russia's and Central Asian's social life is that ideology no longer determines the social status. During the Soviet time, the Russian state had authority over people's lives and traditions. Over time, controlling people faded, and social life changed. Many holidays have been introduced, with traditional foods gaining popularity and becoming part of the Russian culture. Also, the coming up of the middle class in Russia has changed the lifestyle of the Russians; traveling abroad has become popular; consumption of imported goods has also risen in Russia (Rakhimov, 2015). Religion is also a part of Russian social life; though most Russians are nonbelievers, the religious institutions have also taken up the space left by the communist ideology. Like in Russia, Central Asia's religion is Islam (Rakhimov, 2015). The effects brought about by the Soviet Union in Russia greatly impacted Central Asia. Here, people also value the family and the homeland; the long-time communist rule in Russia caused this. In central Asia, people value the act of sharing resources as well. Thus, the two regions' community members value their peace and prosperity.
In North Africa and the Middle East, the culture in these regions is heterogeneous. Over the years, there has been a great influence from the other cultures on the people of North Africa. In North Africa, most of the region speaks and works in Arabic, but Berber has remained an essential cultural identifier as the local dialect. North Africa also values religion, family, and education. The Middle East culture is heterogeneous in that the people of the Middle East are not alike, and they do not speak the same language or practice the same customs. The community consists of Celts, Africans, and Asian cultures that have intermarried with the people of the Middle East. Livelihood is not common to all the people in the Middle East; it is also affected by the ethnic conflicts among the communities, for example, the Kurds and the Syrians.
