For this exercise you are asked to reflect on your social identity and positionality. Choose one country in the world with which you have some familiarity and are interested in traveling to for tourism, work, or study (if it is a populous and/or very diverse country, then you may want to select a particular region). Consider some of the ways that one or more of your personal and social identities(such as gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality or citizenship, (global) class and level of affluence), might mean that you are treated or perceived differently than you are in Canada. Explain what you mean. It may also be that you might be misidentified. This should compose about two-thirds of your response. Second, consider that in meeting people in that country, you may wish to share an aspect of your identity of which you are proud and feel defines you as a person. It might be a personal interest, hobby, sport, charity activity, family experiences, and so on. For example, you paint in your free time. What is this aspect, and how would you raise it when meeting new people (maybe not for the first time, but soon), or show to others what you do or who you are? The point of exploring this is that you want to identify something about yourself which communicates better how you see your self, and think briefly how you might introduce this into conversation.

1. Introduction
How humans interpret and view social worlds is influenced by the individual's social location and society. The perception of the person from which the world is observed impacts the individual's decision-making process (Fergus et al., 2018). The person's positionality and social identity can be examined after evaluating the overall culture of the region with which the individual interacts regularly.
2. Selected Region, Personal, Social Identities, and Positionality
I am respectful and reticent, while cursing and blatancy are common in Australian culture. Therefore, these traits may appear different and cause people to treat me differently. In such a situation, it will take time for the local person to understand my social and personal identity. I believe that interacting with local people will develop a healthy relationship. I think that the personal beliefs, values, and identity of a person should be respected at all costs. I should remain polite in dealing with the other people irrespective of whether the other person uses disrespectful language or not (Hurley, 2020). With time I will develop an understanding with the local people, which will help me in my day-to-day interactions with the locals. The opinion of the people about me and their perception can be changed with time. It takes time to understand the culture and traits of society for any person. I should not indulge in any arguments with the local people s it will help me avoid conflicts. Taking the advice of others can also help in adopting an appropriate approach for dealing with the local people.
