1 The question tackles the actual cause of difference in economy performances in different countries in relation to the European colonization and how the difference in economy relates to the European colonization. The causal question addressed in the paper is to investigate the effect that colonial institutions on the economic performance of European countries. The paper therefore delves into finding out the key reason behind the significant differences in income per capita in various countries in Europe. Accordingly, the key reason identified by the authors and addressed accordingly include variances in institutions as well as property rights, which consequently impact on the performance of these institutions and the overall performance of the country’s economy.

3 This question drives us to generate different theories of the effect of different institutions among countries that were colonized by the European and how they determined their today’s economic status. Beginning from analyzing the different types of colonization policies by the European in their colonies that of cause created different institutions among them. Also the feasibility of settlement and how the colonial states and institutions have persisted to date. A conclusion is drawn that the colonized countries that the European faced high mortality rates are rated poorer today than those that the European faced low mortality. This question therefore draws how diseases in different countries such as Asia aren’t the reason for their poverty but the climate, religion, soil quality, natural resources and measure of ethnolinguistic fragmentation.
