1 The question tackles the actual cause of difference in economy performances in different countries in relation to the European colonization and how the difference in economy relates to the European colonization. The causal question addressed in the paper is to investigate the effect that colonial institutions on the economic performance of European countries. The paper therefore delves into finding out the key reason behind the significant differences in income per capita in various countries in Europe. Accordingly, the key reason identified by the authors and addressed accordingly include variances in institutions as well as property rights, which consequently impact on the performance of these institutions and the overall performance of the country’s economy.
