The Business Source article summarizes "Why CEOs Fail: The 11 Behaviors That Can Derail Your Climb to the Top – and How to Manage Them," by Dotlich and Cair. The summary elaborates 11 behaviors the authors believe CEOs and those aspiring to avoid. The article recounts the story of Jeff Skilling, the former CEO of Enron Corporation, who at some point was the focus of the media when he was at the pinnacle of success. However, the table turned as Enron was caught up in a scandal that tarnished the CEO's name. The article argues that Dotlich and Cair's "Why CEOs Fail" addresses the fundamental question of why CEOs move from grace to grass, often running their reputation and bringing down the very same entities that made them famous. As much as the civilian bosses do not have the technical ability to execute military operations, military leaders are subject to failure if they ignore them.
