Comparison aims at evaluating ways that two or more things, individuals or places are alike. On the other side, a contrast examines the means through which different things or people differ. It is essential to comprehend the purpose of both comparison and contrast is to explicate and explain. Ordinarily, the aim of the writer would be to inform the readers about the similarities and differences which are necessary to them. Also, a writer may justify and describe something strange and unknown by comparing it with something familiar with the reader. An analogy is a unique form of comparison which involves unobservable or complicated subjects. When the readers are so unfamiliar with something, the writer aims at examining the similarities existing the complex subject and a more familiar subject.
