If someone has not done something wrong, why do you have to watch over the person? Many people go to secret places in order to reflect about their lives and also to have some private conversations among themselves because privacy protects them from abuse by those in power. Many people who commit crimes either local or international crimes, tend to feel guilty and end up hiding themselves away from others because of fear of the consequences they can get from the authorities. They have designated places for hide outs like the underground rooms in their houses where they cannot be traced easily. On the other hand however, there might be some valid reasons to hide.
Doomsday naysayers, soldiers at war and those living in hurricane-prevalent zones are just examples of people who have mastered the art of survival by knowing where to hide during their respective situations. For the doomsday believers, construction of underground bunkers serves them just okay, since they believe that the world would end in a cataclysmic event such as fire or floods, which would effectively sweep through the surface of the world, thereby wiping every living thing on it. Soldiers on the other hand, know so well about bunkers and trenches to shield them from the firepower and barrages of the enemy.
