The Birds film depicts several pollical ideologies in a world where civilization was at its peak. Daphne Du Maurier bases The Birds on a 1952 novel of the same title. The book portrays several political issues in Britain through the emergence of birds. The story talks about an attack in a small Cornwall village where birds invade the place. The Birds talks about the British ideology and depicts different political stands of the country, especially during the Second World War. As time the film unveils, one understands the deeper meaning of every scene and does not judge it based on these birds. This work will analyze The Birds film its political allegory, where Hitchcock has used birds as a representation of something else.
The Birds contain a more allusive and symbolic political meaning where they represent something else. They are also a source of disharmony in the country and bring much chaos to the entire country. The cause of the birds' attack is not obvious, and scientists blame the weather changes (Powers, 1963). However, a deeper understanding of The Birds brings the viewer to different conclusions. Firstly, the film was set when many European countries were fighting, and the United Kingdom risked being attacked by the Soviet Union because of the conflict against communism (Burbage, 2017).
