Description of the encounter:
The Dinner Scene in Shrek 2 is the encounter of analysis. Shrek is having dinner with Fiona’s parents and an argument erupts between Shrek and her father which leads to Fiona storming off the table (Movieclips, 2019). At the same time, Zebra joins them at the dinner table even though he was not invited and seats as he joins the conversation. When having dinner, conversations are usually kept at the minimum and arguments are handled appropriately without raising voices or insulting each other. On the other hand, one needs to be invited for dinner and not show up unannounced. Based on this scenario the concept of politeness will be analyzed.
