Now that you’ve evaluated your sources and have chosen the ones that you want to include in your Research Preparation Project Introduction, the last step in the research process is to properly give credit to the ideas or words that you’ve borrowed. Activity: You are going to practice creating citations for the two sources that you will cite in your Research Preparation Project Introduction in module 8. 1. There are many different citation formatting styles. Two popular ones that you may have heard of are APA and MLA. Typically, the style that you use depends on the discipline that you are writing for. (In the publishing world, if you want to write an article in a professional journal, be sure to check the author guidelines. They will note which style needs to be used, and some journals even have their own unique style!)
