Many Latin American paintings showcase the historical accounts of the continent by making visual representations of a certain era. One influential artist named Miguel Gonzalez made a group of paintings called La Conquista de México (1696-1715) or The Conquest of Mexico, which creatively structures the historical narratives of the start of the Spanish Colonization in Latin America and the fall of the Aztec empire (Dujovne, n.d.). La Conquista de México has around fifty individual paintings or episodes that depict a clear narrative of a specific event that happened during the colonization (Dujovne, n.d.).
