Often times, people would catch a glimpse of my best friend and I and ask whether or not we were twins. I would politely answer back that we were not; we just liked to dress up in the same style a lot since it made it easy for us to find each other, especially in public events when things tend to get rowdy. But, let us not focus on that, it had already been twenty-five years when we met each other and twenty-three years of being best friends. Are you curious to find out how we met?
It was my math competition (I was a total nerd) and the professor sent the team and I to PICC in Manila, Philippines. Going to the competitors’ room, I suddenly felt nervous due to the volume of competition I was in for. There were many top schools from all across the country, from Ateneo to La Salle, the thought of going against them scared me as I belonged to a minor school and it was the first time the institution sent representatives and it was nerve wrecking to think about it.
Anyway, with how nervous I was, I decided to go to the bathroom to gain whatever control I have and keep myself in check. It was no easy task since this was my first competition in high school and the fact that I was captain did not make soothe me at all. I was sweating profusely and almost had a nervous breakdown by crapping myself, but not until a soft hand tapped my shoulder. Brought back to reality by the warm touch, I looked back at the person who saved my nerves and I was awestruck on how beautiful she was. She had brunette hair, gray eyes, and really soft facial features, an overall goddess so to speak, especially with how rare gray-eyed women are in our...
