Thanksgiving is an important time when people come together to remember and give thanks to God for having seen them through various challenges and breakthroughs in life. The most memorable event to me is the end of year celebrations when I get an opportunity to interact with family members whom I had no chance of meeting them over the year. Although most people focus on the feasting that is associated with Thanksgiving ceremonies, to me, the most important aspect is the opportunity to meet and interact with relatives and friends whom we have not met for a long time.
The most memorable thanksgiving event was when we had a family Thanksgiving Day towards the end of last year at my parent's place. Since most of my siblings were not comfortable in being involved in vocal expressions gratitude, I came with a simple idea that would be convenient to each member. I bought white handkerchiefs and handed over to each member, with each expected to write what they were thankful of anonymously. Although at the onset, enthusiasm was noted from the kids, at last, the adults joined, and it was surprising that some requested for an additional cloth to write on.
