Courage is the ability to do something that frightens, without fear. On the other hand, reality can be explained as the state of things as they exist in contrast to the ideologies. How is courage related to the fact, and what does having the courage and facing reality help an individual achieve? Why would someone need to have these two, and what happens to people who don't have them?
To begin with, courage may be moral, intellectual, or disciplined. Moral courage is about standing up for what one believes in, no matter what happens or the support or opposition or ridicule they face. Moral courage provides an ethical paradigm for an individual to walk in. It enables leaders to lead with integrity. The nerve starts at a personal level from fundamental things, things everyone ignores, like picking up litter, helping someone find their lost phone even if it means you will run late or even standing up to a bully.
Secondly, intellectual courage has the guts to face new ideas one might not have encountered or given a thought yet. A student joining a medicine school expects to learn a lot of new things about the human body and a lot of drugs with what they treat and the respective doses. Even with all this scary information, the students are ready to get to it, and that is a perfect example. It involves one submitting themselves to potential harm or loss in an intellectual context.
