A board meeting usually comprises of directors of different school districts. The role of the board members is to develop strategies which enable them to guide and oversee the overall performance of the respective schools (Lowrie & Thompson, 2019). For instance, during the board meeting at Kent School District, members of the board began their meeting by reviewing the past performance of the institution. Secondly, they deliberated on strategic approaches by approving plans of action that would facilitate and support the developmental activities of the school.
To begin with, the board members started by reviewing the minutes of the previous meetings. They proceeded by ratifying the minutes and finished up by deliberating on the unfinished agendas of the prior session. Secondly, the board continued by reviewing key performance indicators of the school’s past performance reports (Lowrie & Thompson, 2019). The signs included the school performance, revenues, and expenditures, parents’ complaints, as well as the expansion projects. Thirdly, the board embarked on approving the recommended corporate actions which then be implemented by school management and other stakeholders. Last but not least, the board members embarked on a comprehensive discussion of the idea, issues, and suggestions that were raised during the meeting (Lowrie & Thompson, 2019).
