When I was in high school, my English and literature teacher insisted that students read and pronounce words, phrases, and sentences correctly. As such, we had one day in a week when the teacher would come into the class and point any student randomly to read a specific passage. The teacher's primary objective was to ensure that everyone in his class understood the importance of sentence structures, punctuation, pronunciation, and grammar.
