Over the management course during this semester, I have seen so much personal growth and development not only at school but also in how I interact with my peers and how I want to interact with colleagues in my professional life. However, personal growth and development have been because as a learner, I have made certain efforts to learn and apply the learning in my day-to-day activities. One key thing I have learned is ethical thinking and how important it is for me to think ethically in all my encounters. As revealed by Neubert and Montanez (2020, p.199), one of the virtues of an ethical framework is the courage to be ethical even when it comes at a personal cost. As a learner, I have done several things to become an ethical thinker and incorporate this practice in my life. One, I have made an effort to learn from others, even if I disagree with their opinions and views. Listening to people about their experiences, views, and opinions has helped me see beyond my personal experience and appreciate every perspective.
I remember one time we were assigned the responsibility of picking individuals to participate in a team project. During the selection process, someone pointed out to me that I was only selecting people who are likely to agree with me because we share a similar background.
