“Action against the New York Post because of its homophobic coverage of AIDS” in the late 1980s and early 1990s media organization fueled the notion that aids were closely associated with people who enjoyed the same sexual relationships (Sommella, 1995, p. 2). Thus, at the beginning of the formation of gay and lesbian activism organization in the 1980s, the notion became propaganda. Society and the media discriminated against people who practiced homosexuality. An example is the New York Post published news concerning homosexuality and aids. The capture of David Summers was one of the issues that propelled the issue as he had Aids and was gay. His capture led to the development of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Defamation GLAAD. The group later spearheaded the gay rights bill in 1983 in New York and the formation of other groups such as the feminist groups. The question in focus is how has the public been educated about the spread of HIV infection in regards to homosexuality practice?
