One of the concepts that I have learned so far is using other people as mere means in different situations. According to Kant, using someone as a mere means is using someone in a situation that they could not like to be involved in their own principle consent CITATION Koh15 \l 1033 (Kohl, 2015). Kant argues that in different situations, we do use other people but we should not use them as a mere means since it appears to be a form of deceptionCITATION Ono \p 412 \l 1033 (Onora, p. 412). Different human beings have their own consent or what has been defined as maxims and as a way of treating each other with respect, we need to make sure that we have respected the maxims that are held by different people. Kant also argues that consent precluded deception and coercion.
In March this year, I had gone to visit my uncle who stays in upcountry. It was long since I had visited them and I considered it a great chance to mingle with my cousins and share my school experiences with them.
