Coloradans spend many dollars to alleviate the effects of marijuana legalization. The government obtains this money from every single dollar that it gains in tax revenue. Also, the healthcare system-related costs and the cost of school drop-out due to marijuana use is still high in Colorado and other states in the United States. School drop-out costs and healthcare costs affect the economy of the country negatively. The economic drawback of marijuana ranges from the costs incurred from the management of accidental poisonings of marijuana and traffic accidents that are caused by marijuana users. Eventually, the courts will spend substantial money to rule the cases of impaired drivers due to the misuse of marijuana (Centennial Institute, 2018).
