In the article “How to Read a Paper: Getting Your Bearings (Deciding What the Paper is about),” Greenhalgh endears to establish the criteria upon which published articles should gain credibility. The importance of this discussion arises with various journals experiencing a proliferation of published articles. Scholars and more importantly, students must recognize the essence of credible information as they study because, in the foreseeable future, they will be the foot-soldiers of their practice. Specifically, the author is concerned with the emphasis that learners will offer the hypothesis rather than the methodological quality.
