heres my feed back on the asssessment you did for me....... The submission displays clear reflective thinking, and discusses answers that are mostly connected to the questions that are being asked in the assignment. The writing is generally clear, and the structure of the submission is also generally coherent.
There are a few places where the submission could be improved. The first is in response to the second question, where the discussion is a bit superficial. There are other aspects of the discipline of Politics that were discussed in the lecture material that were not included. The response to this question would have improved if it included more of a substantive discussion. he second area of improvement is in the response to the third question. The discussion is largely a recapitulation of the answer given for the second question, and it would have been improved if it discussed something beyond what was already discussed in a previous answer.
With respect to the 4th question, the answer given is a bit incoherent and/or contradictory. At the beginning, it is stated that politics has had a great impact on the author's thinking of the world, and yet in the first sentence of the second paragraph, the author states that they cannot say that politics has changed the way that the author thinks about the world. This apparent contradiction hinders the strength of the response. There are also some general sentence structure and grammatical errors which should be addressed for uture submissions. This submission has plenty of positive room for growth. If the submission was turned in on time, a mark of 50 would have been given.
Crossing Borders: Studying in SSHP Module (SSSS001S3) 1 ASSESSMENT TWO - SPECIFICATION DOCUMENT This assessment is due on Monday 13 January 2020 at 1pm and is worth 60% of the mark for the module. This assessment is composed of two parts. For the first part, you must select one of the following disciplines: Applied Linguistics and Communication (week 7), Philosophy (week 8), or Psychosocial Studies (week 9). You are required to write an 800-word critical reflection on the selected discipline. A critical reflection is an exercise in which you are asked to write about one of the disciplines you have been introduced to and your own response to it. In it you should aim to provide answers to the following questions, with reference to the relevant lectures and materials covered in the module. 1. Why have I chosen to write about the selected discipline? Based on the lecture and materials on this discipline, why do you find it interesting or challenging or engaging? Why is the study of the selected discipline relevant to you at this particular moment? 2. What is the approach the selected discipline uses to study the world? In your understanding from the lecture, workshops and reading materials from the module, what is the focus of this discipline? And what are the methods the discipline uses to study the world? 3. Why do I think the discipline is important to society? Based on your learning during the lecture, workshops and reading materials, how do you think the selected discipline contributes to our understanding of the world today? Does this discipline’s perspective or focus bring important aspects or issues to light? How does it improve our understanding of the world? 4. What impact has it had on me? Based on the lecture, workshops and reading materials, what have you learned about this discipline in this module? Has it changed the way you think about the world? Has it made you think about specific problems in a different way? If so, explain how and why. You can choose to write your critical reflection on one of the above disciplines using the lecture slides, readings used in class as well as readings or materials recommended during the lecture. Please note the use of reading materials from the module reading list (those used and recommended in class materials and lectures) is mandatory for this Crossing Borders: Studying in SSHP Module (SSSS001S3) 2 assessment, the use of external materials on the discipline you have researched on your own is allowed, but optional. Please note the use of external materials will not grant you extra marks in this assignment. For the second part, you are required to write a 200-word reflection on the feedback you have received on Assessment One, detailing how you have used it to improve the critical reflection you have written for Assessment Two. Note that if you have not yet submitted or received feedback on Assessment One, you can comment on how you have used feedback provided on a different assessment on another module (for example, Fundamentals of Study) to improve on your critical reflection. The total word limit for Assessment Two is 1000 words (800 words for part 1 and 200 words for part 2). Guidance on assessment preparation and submission: You must write approximately the number of words given in the word limit. You may go up to 10% over this limit and are not advised to go more than 10% under it. You should write all parts of the assessment in a single document, clearly stating the discipline you have selected for the assessment. This document must be formatted as a Word document or as a PDF and uploaded to Moodle via the ‘Turnitin’ icon labelled as: ‘Assessment Two, due date 13 January 2020, 1pm’. You can find this under the ‘Assessment’ heading in the Moodle module. Please make sure you allow plenty of time to prepare for this assessment in order to submit it by the deadline. It is advisable to give yourself enough time to complete your answers, then set your work aside for a day or two before going back and checking and, if necessary, revising it. College regulations do not allow members of staff to grant extensions on assessments, but if your submission is late due to unforeseen and unpreventable circumstances, you can submit a Mitigating Circumstances claim. Mitigating Circumstances claims should be submitted to your programme administrator within two weeks of the submission deadline. If your claim is accepted, your late submission will not be penalised.
