Different characteristics define a discourse community. One of the discourse characteristics that best describes the community I belong to is one that has a threshold level of members constituting of a suitable degree of relevant content and discoursal expertise. I am in an undergraduate academic class where one student cannot constitute a class. There is a threshold number of students at least six of them to make up a class and be assigned a lecturer.
