The criteria framework for ascertaining research credibility is anchored on ensuring an alignment between research questions, theory, data gathering, analysis, and findings. Sampling strategy, the volume and depth of data, and the analytical procedures taken are necessary within that framework. Research credibility required that the chosen methodology be well justified and explained. For instance, authors could indicate that they decided to employ a phenomenological approach or grounded theory as well as accompany that with an explicit rationale concerning their decision. The data gathering methods and data volume should also be appropriate and justified to the selected methodology. The focus needs to be tailored towards the richness, appropriateness, and richness of the data and whether, when evaluated, the data offers sufficient evidence responding to the research question. Furthermore, the data gathering and analysis procedures should be delineated in detail for other parties to follow similar steps in replicating the study (Stenfors, Kajamaa, & Bennett, 2020).
