Culture and religion influence the foods and beverages we take and restrict their consumption in some instances. In my case, I consumed Barbecue ribs, hot dogs, and pork meat at different intervals. Barbecue ribs and hot dogs are renowned traditional American cuisine that is widely influenced by American culture. According to Krishnamoorthy (2017), barbecue food has been one of the country’s oldest traditions. Originally an American invention, barbecue ribs have become one of the most favorite dishes in the country. It is one of the barbecued dishes that lean on American-style grilling. Since this food is accepted in the American culture, I can acknowledge that the American culture influenced me to take it because it is part of the American way of life.
The hot dog was also influenced by American culture. Krishnamoorthy (2017) noted that American hot dog complements a summer cookout or a baseball game. American food culture cannot be complete without mentioning this dish. It is what identifies most Americans because it has become the country's icon. Every time I eat a hot dog, I feel like a real American. For that reason, the American food culture influenced me to consume hot dogs. It also forms part of the American way of life.
