Social Media Platforms
We cannot run from it. Social media has become a big part of our lives, and I’m sure it will continue to be in the future. The social media I use include Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I use Instagram primarily for entertainment and to follow my favorite topics and celebrities. The videos and photos we share and interact with on Instagram are beautiful. At the end of a tiring day, I just want to sit down, drink my cold-brew iced tea, and scroll down Instagram as I view and double tap on photos and videos shared by the people I follow. Twitter comes in handy when following up on a piece of breaking news or a trending topic. I can view popular stories and the latest ones about a particular topic, which makes the platform a great source of information. I find Facebook a great platform to connect with my friends and family, particularly those who are far away or we haven’t interacted physically for a long time. I also get to share parts of my life, and through the comments and likes, our relationships are strengthened. Finally, LinkedIn serves a more professional role, where I get to network and examine potential job opportunities and employers. Therefore, each of the social media platforms serves different purposes in my life, and as far as I am concerned, they are integral to everyday living.
Influence on Others
I believe my posts on social media influence others, but I also think there is still room for improvement. I do not seriously sit down and write posts specifically about a particular topic to influence others. However, I do share posts from other pages, and I believe they greatly influence other people. The posts I write and the pictures I share relate mostly to my life, and the audience is my close friends and family. While these posts may influence them to comment, chat, or call me, I do not think they have that huge influence on their lives.
