Please read Personal Goal Setting (http://www(dot)mindtools(dot)com/page6.html) and watch this video (
) about SMART goals to guide you in formulating your career goals document. You must write at least 3 goals but no more than 10 total for this assignment. You may use the Career Goals Template provided under the Portfolio section. Remember to use the “SMART goals” technique and stay positive in tone.
SMART Goals
A useful way of making goals more powerful is to use the SMART mnemonic. While there are plenty of variants (some of which we've included in parenthesis), SMART usually stands for:
S – Specific (or Significant).
M – Measurable (or Meaningful).
A – Attainable (or Action-Oriented).
R – Relevant (or Rewarding).
T – Time-bound (or Trackable).
For example, instead of having "to earn another degree" as a goal, it's more powerful to use the SMART goal "To have completed my Master of Education degree by December 31, 2021."
Like your work philosophy, no one wants to read something that is nothing more than a string of platitudes and clichés. Each goal must be specific and include a time frame. The intent of the portfolio is to find a job after graduation. Therefore graduating with your Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Degree is not an appropriate career goal for this assignment.

After evaluating the document, I will ask you to revise it and upload it into your Career Portfolio. Please note that completing, revising, and uploading the revised version of this work philosophy document into your Career Portfolio is a requirement for making a "C" in this course, as is stated on the Course Syllabus in the section on "Course Requirements and Evaluation."
