Children are Reflection of their Parents in the Film 'Fences'

Essay Instructions:

Wilson’s decision to make the conflict between father and son the central pivot of the play shows us how important he believes the bonds between children and their parents are. Cory doesn;t understand this dynamic - he continually insists that he doesn’t want to be like Troy. Yet, Rose sees his father in him. By the end of the play, Cory is more like Troy that even he notices. For example, Cory’s dream of sports are thrown aside and he sings about the dog Blue to Raynell on the porch - eerily reminiscent to what TroY did with Cory as a little boy. The “sins of the father” are passed down - notice Cory’s stubbornness about attending Troy’s funeral. He sounds just like his father.
The truth is no matter how hard we try to avoid becoming our parents, we always end up a reflection of who they are. So, to the point: in focusing on our theme of Identity, in what ways are you like your parents? What traits have you inherited from them? What points of view? What political opinions? What philosophy of life? Conversely, in what ways are you different? Do you view these similarities and differences as either positive or negative?
ASSESSMENT WRITING PART 1: Please write a two or three page response based on the questions posed above. In what ways are you a reflection of your parents? Include references to Fences if appropriate; otherwise, feel free to include experiential details from your own life to enhance your claims.
There is a book and a film named "Fences"

While the majority of children like it when they resemble their parents since it gives them a sense of identity, others might not like the traits exhibited by their parents. However, a bond between parents and children is perceived to be a pivotal aspect of their relationship.
For instance, I believe I resemble my parents in many different ways. First, my physical appearance is more like my father’s. The same is my walking style, as well as my form of pouncing words. As much as most of the traits mentioned might be out of a genetical inheritance from my parents, some characters are also acquired from parents through observations. One such feature includes facial expression and some words that I do utter when I am surprised. The other trait that I have that resembles my mother’s is shouting when to someone when they offend me. This is more like a mum who usually shout us when agitated. Subsequently, I believe that my love ...
