Healthcare Management Information System (HMIS) is one of the innovative technologies that are required by the healthcare industry for better management, planning, and decision-making in organizations. Chief Information Officer (CIO) surveys that are conducted on an annual basis are of great importance for healthcare management as they put light on several significant elements that could be rectified. This essay discussed the significance of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) survey for the HMIS industry and its impact on it. This is because it points out towards the lacking and loopholes that could be rectified for better and more promising results. It helps in the proper implementation of HMIS technology, which ultimately helps the healthcare industry in proper management and planning (David, 2017).
Furthermore, it also assists the CEO and directors of the organizations to understand better what is essential for the customers and the staff and management strategies will be best for the organizations. In one study that was conducted by CIO, they spent around 55% of their time planning innovative moves, i.e., implementation of new technologies and initiatives for better results (David, 2017). This helps in facing the challenges related to implementation, planning, and updating of systems in the contemporary economic environment.
