Currently, the world is blessed with a lot of young and talented individuals. These people can do so many things but still, find it difficult to break into the limelight because of the competition that exists. As a pianist, I have come to understand the difficulty that exists as well as the hurdles in the path of success. Today, having a commanding repertoire does not mean that a person will have a soft landing in their field. Everyone is a winner, and in the field of music, other challenges like the shrinking audience make it incredibly difficult for a young and budding artist like me. I have had days when I doubt whether I made the right choice because launching a career as a pianist has turned out to be a nightmare. Getting noticed, even with the internet making things easier, is quite difficult and this means that turning one’s talent into a meaningful career is quite problematic nowadays. However, as I have come to realize, there are challenges in any career path, but only the resilient and most stubborn individuals make it to the grand stages to showcase what they can do.
